Funding resources

Initially , we will seek funding from individual institutions, including (i) Tsinghua University (China), (ii) University of Oklahoma (OU), and (iii) RCEES, CAS (China). We could also develop proposals with a focus on the global water microbiome studies to various funding agencies, such as federal and state agencies, international collaboration programs, and water research relevant companies. Any investigators may develop proposals with help from others to achieve their research goals, and this will be a part of funding resources.

The Municipal Wastewater Microbiome Initiative studies were supported by Tsinghua University Initiative Scientific Research Program (20161080112), the National Scientific Foundation in China (51678335), the State Key Joint Laboratory of Environmental Simulation and Pollution Control in China (18L02ESPC), and the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of Oklahoma.
